As Staffing Professionals with over 30 years of recruiting experience, we have seen just about everything. We have filled positions for clients at every level across every functional area of their business. It may seem obvious but, we strongly recommend you take some time to prepare for your interview. Whether you are the Hiring Manager or the Candidate, understanding the requirements of the role you are interviewing for is critical to your success. Now is not the time to "wing it".
If you are the Hiring Manager, we recommend reading the candidates resume prior to the interview and crafting key questions based on stated experience. It is important to establish a rapport early in your conversation with candidates so you see the "real" person. Keeping in mind, you want to hire profesionally curteous and collaborative team members who succceed with others in delivering results.
If you are the Candidate, we recommend you thoroughly review the position requirements and provide examples of how your experience aligns with the requirements of the role. The Interviewer will often engage in small-talk initially to establish a rapport and get to know you better. Keep responses positive and stay away from religion or politics. Every Interviewer will want specific examples of experience that aligns with the position description so make sure to have your examples and specific results for each. The more detail the better!
